How to Book a Band Master for Your Wedding or Event

Booking a band master isn't really a separate process from booking a live band — the band master is who's leading the band you book. But knowing what to share and when makes the booking itself smoother, and gives the band master what they actually need to lead your event well.
Step 1: Share Your Event Details
Start with the basics: event date, venue, city, and which functions need live music — Ring Ceremony, Sangeet, Garba, Reception, or the wedding day itself. Share this via WhatsApp or the booking form so availability can be confirmed against your date.
Step 2: Confirm the Line-up and Format
Discuss which instruments and how many musicians suit your event — a full live orchestra for a large wedding, or a smaller line-up for a more intimate function. The band master leads whichever format you book.
Step 3: Lock In Timing
For wedding season dates (roughly October through February), booking 2–6 months in advance is recommended to secure your preferred date. The standard performance duration is up to 3 hours, with additional charges for time beyond that — worth confirming upfront if your event is likely to run long.
Step 4: Brief the Band Master Directly
Share any specific sequence, ritual order, or song requests ahead of the event rather than during it — a band master working from a clear brief can cue the band precisely at the right moments, instead of guessing in real time.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a band master?
2–6 months ahead for wedding season dates (October to February) is recommended to secure your preferred date, though shorter-notice bookings are accommodated when available.
Can I brief the band master on my event's specific ritual order?
Yes — sharing your sequence, timing, and any special requests ahead of the event helps the band master cue the band precisely at the right moments.
Does booking a band master mean booking the whole band?
Yes. The band master leads the full live band or orchestra you book — you're not booking them separately from the musicians they direct.
